As an art enthusiast, one of the events that I really looked forward to was Art Fair Philippines 2015. When I read about it online and saw the publicities for this event, I coudn’t help but look forward to seeing all the intricate pieces in this fair. Art fair PH was held last February 5-8, 2015 at a car park building in The Link, Ayala Center Makati.
I went on the last day which was February 8, Sunday. The place was full packed and everyone was taking photos (a selfie here, a DSLR camera there, a group of friends here, a fashion ootd-with-the-art there) and it was really hard to just stay in one art piece to admire it. Nope, everything should be fast paced with the amount of people.
Art fair is now on its third year and once again, this event has turned the car park in The Link, Makati into an art haven with 33 galleries and 10 special exhibits. Artists, students and enthusiasts (like me!) all really had a great time. This year’s list of participants vary from new artists to galleries all over metro manila and Southeast Asia.
The 6th and 7th floors were really full of amazing art pieces. I found myself immersed all day in both floors but my favorites were mostly on the 7th floor. Some artworks were too trivial to understand or appreciate so if you don’t have an artistic and open mind, I guess you really won’t enjoy the place. But not for all the artsy people in the place! We were all mesmerized and in love with the pieces.
I really loved the vintage-themes and the Alice in wonderland inspired art exhibits! The minds and hands of these artists are really creative. Maybe some day, I could also develop my craft and passion for the arts and hold an exhibit of my own.
Art fair Philippinesis the place to be! For only 150 php (50php for a student like me!), you can enjoy the event all day and get lost in creativity and imagination.
